IPL is an older and inferior form of hair removal. It will remove hair and keep it from growing back for several months to a year. The 755-nm wavelength has high melanin absorption abilities with proven long term results for permanent hair removal and pigmented lesion removal. The high powered 1064-nm Nd :YAG is the safest wavelength for permanent hair removal on darker skin types. It is also the preferred wavelength for treatment of facial and leg veins. We also use the Cynosure Smart Cool 6 Laser Treatment Cooling System. It minimizes client comfort while minimizing side effects during aesthetic laser treatments. No serious aesthetic practice should be without one. Smart Cool 6 provides a continuous flow of chilled air before, during, and after all laser therapies. The Smart Cool 6 protects the tissue and skin from possible thermal damage-allowing higher fluency for increased efficacy. Some of our competitors resort to using just plain ice applied directly to the skin.
